To Jackson, my beloved son, with all love:
Of all the wondrous creation in the Universe,
nothing compares to the beauty and person of what we call “woman.” The distant
nebulae, the snow-capped mountains, the picturesque landscape teeming with
flora and fauna, fade in contrast to the wonders and the mystery of a woman,
for she is the crown, the zenith of all Creation. Some err in believing God was
unprepared for Adam’s dilemma, but as a teacher allows struggle before
instruction, at times God lets us perceive our need before a gift is given,
therefore aiding us in shunning self-reliance.
We read of the slumber with which a
suffering God induced upon Adam and of the displacing of his rib to commence
the nativity of womanhood, embodied in the person of Eve. God, knowing
the loneliness of man, added this compliment without Adam’s input. If
throughout life we were to dictate to God the exact personality and physicality
of whom we desire, being done by a fallible mind, we with depraved ambitions
would transform our self-proclaimed judicious thoughts into a being of horror,
but God being all wise and just, knowing exactly our person, creates a helpmeet
to succor our needs. Thus my son, let not your governing be directed by your
own ambitions or desires, but by the will of Jehovah if he has so designed your
earthly journeying to be accompanied by this mortal crown. By this prudence,
you will say with Solomon of old, “thou
art all fair, my love; there is no spot in thee.”
